Gili Islands

Gili Meno

Gili Meno is where you go for the signature snorkel scene: the underwater statues “Nest” sitting on pale sand in shallow water, with sunlight rippling over them like a moving filter. It’s a quick, cinematic stop from a yacht. You can hop in, do a slow loop around the sculptures, then continue to nearby coral patches where the snorkeling gets more alive with fish and occasional turtles. The best part is the contrast: art on the seabed, then real reef life a few minutes away. It is curated, but still natural.

Gili Air

Gili Air is the kind of island where you can slip off your yacht and be over coral in minutes. For the best wow factor, aim your swim for the south-east corner, where the reef starts close and stays lively. Bright reef fish, clean coral patches, and that classic “Nemo” feeling without needing a long swim. If you want a calmer, almost meditative snorkel, go to the southern tip where sandy floor turns into reef and turtles often graze near seagrass. It feels intimate, like you’ve dropped into their routine. Tip: snorkel in the morning, then come back onboard for lunch while the island warms up.

Gili Trawangan

Turtle Point on the north to north-west side is the main swim. It is one of the most reliable spots for sea turtles in shallow water, especially in the morning when visibility is cleaner. The west coast is the nicest quick dip later in the day, and it is also the classic sunset side with Mount Agung sometimes visible on clear evenings. If you want a short land break, do a fast bike loop around the island. It is flat, simple, and gets you away from the busy harbour strip before you head back onboard.
