CHARTER BASICS

Why booking the superyacht Tipsy Gysy?

Tehre are several reasons - she is the largest yacht offered for charter in Singapore which will guarantee an unforgettable experience; she is built as an ocean-going vessel, which gives you peace of mind in terms of safety and reliability - not the plastic/fiberglass boat regularly offered by the local market; but a strong steel hull, twin engines, fully air-conditioned yacht fitted with stabilisers to reduce the motion at sea. There are no constraints in terms of space - she can safely take up to 70 guests on a local charter and you will still find a space to clear your mind. She is deisgned for your confort and ultimate enjoyment. We can bring to life your dream cruise - beyond the horizon.

How far in advance do I need to book a charter?

We suggest to book your local charters at least one month in advance, especially when you are targetting public hollidays. For overseas charters - as they require careful planning, we would suggest to approach us at elast 2 months in advance.
What are the basic rules while onboard?

Our goal is simple: to ensure a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for everyone on board. The following guidelines help the crew operate the yacht smoothly and keep all guests safe.

Captain & Crew Authority

The Captain is responsible for the safety of all guests, crew, and the vessel. For this reason:

The Captain’s decisions on safety, weather, routing, and timing are final

Guests are expected to follow all instructions given by the Captain and crew.

These measures are in place solely to protect everyone on board.

Movement & Safety On Board

Yachts are a moving environment and require extra care. Please:

Walk carefully at all times, preferably wearing good grip shoes while on outer decks;

Avoid running or climbing on railings;

Stay clear of restricted or crew-only areas.

For your safety, certain areas may be temporarily closed during manoeuvres or rough conditions.

🍷 Alcohol & Responsible Enjoyment

Guests are welcome to enjoy drinks on board. To ensure safety:

Alcohol should be consumed responsibly.

The Captain may limit alcohol consumption if a guest appears unwell or unsafe.

Intoxicated guests may be restricted from swimming or water activities.

Our priority is that everyone returns safely and comfortably.

Swimming and water activities are permitted only when:

The yacht is safely anchored. Weather and sea conditions allow • The crew has given approval.

Guests must follow crew guidance at all times. Water activities may be suspended at any point if conditions change.

Aggressive, unsafe, or disruptive behaviour may result in activities being stopped or the charter being shortened.

What about the safety briefing?

Before we commence our journey, you will be required to attend a mandatory safety briefing. The safety briefing is as a video presentation - please do pay attention to all aspects of this video while observing our crew demonstrating how to wear a life jacket.

Please do familiarise yourself with the layout of the yacht and the escape routes. - worth taking a look at our virtual tour of the yacht before sailing out. In case you are on a longer journey - get familiar with the safety equipment placed in each cabin and the safety instructions as posted on each cabin's door.

Any prohibitted activites and/or items?

Any unlawful behavior, including the use or possession of illegal drugs will result in the immediate termination of the charter. Please do note that vaping is prohibited in Singapore.

No flying of drones is permitted unless prior permission from the operators is previously granted.

The use of tenders and/or waverunners is subject to rider having a suitable training and certification (in Singapore - PPCD).

Smoking is prohibited inside the yacht's cabins and common areas due to fire hazards.

Unauthorized guests - the number of guests must not exceed the limit specified in the charter contract. Bringing additional, unregistered guests is a breach of insurance and safety policies.

What to wear during the cruise?

For a yacht cruise, wear lightweight, breathable fabrics (linen, cotton) like sundresses, shorts, and polos for day, adding layers (cardigan, light jacket) for cool evenings, plus essentials like swimwear, hats, sunglasses, and boat shoes/sandals for comfort and sun protection, keeping it smart-casual with nautical touches and avoiding heels or overly sporty gear unless for water activities.

We are recommending to avoid going barefoot on any outside decks 0r wearing flip flops - decks can get very slippery especially when wet.

What about insurance? Though proof of a medical/accident cover is not compulsory for guest taking local charters, we strongly recommend that all guests purchase/hold a standard travel/health insurance cover.

For all overseas charters, we require that each guest has a travel/health insurance valid for the whole duration of the charter. Such cover must include overseas assistance and medical evacuation.

if you require help in purchasing a suitable insurance cover - we are able to recommend suitable insurance brokers that can assit you.

For all charters/trips, all of our guests will be required to sign a passenger waiver prior to yacht's departure from marina. In the case of children - the acompanying parent is required to sign the waiver.

How many guests can be accommodated onboard on local charters?

Up to 70 guests. The capcity is inclusive of children of any age, any photographers, catering staff, etc. that you may bring along.

How to book and how far in advance should I book?

You can book using the Booking Form - or you can contact us at +65/xxxxxxx. We accept most payment methods including PayNow, PayLah, bank transfer etc. Idealy, secure your booking at least one month in advance of your planned charter. For charters planend during public hollidays - we recomened securing the slot well in advance

What is included in the local charters?

It depends on your selected choices when you are placing the booking. We can accommodate later changes if you require addons to the original booking. Generally, a standard local charter will include:

  • exclusive use of the yacht for the booked duration;
  • the fuel for the local route;
  • the crew to operate the yacht;
  • the use of common spaces - saloon, restrooms, seating, deck areas, and the deck jacuzzi.

    Further complementary items include:

  • free use of the gas BBQ;
  • assorted soft drinks (max 2 cans per passenger);
  • bottled cold and hot water (dispensers), tee and coffee;
  • the use of the yacht's fridges to store your food and drinks.
  • yacht toys - only kayaks, floating mat, stand up paddle board, snorkelling equipment are included in the package.

    Please note that the guests cabins are not included in the standard local package and access will be normally restricted.

    If you require catering services - please do let us know; normal booking includes only basic assistance from the crew with regular activities - safety briefing, supervision, preparing the BBQ, cleaning and removal of refuse, assiting with the water toys etc.

  • How long are local charters/ Singapore trips?

    Local charters are typically offered in 4, 6 or 8-hour blocks. Longer durations allow more time at anchor, additional cruising, or a more relaxed flow to the day. Please note that last-minute' extension of your charter might not be possible due to previous commitments of the yacht - if unsure about the final duration of your charter, please indicate at the time of booking.

    Can itineraries be customised?

    Yes. Routes, timing, onboard arrangements, and activities can be tailored to your preferences, weather conditions, and operational considerations.

    Children passengers on board?

    We welcome our junior VIPs. While the yacht has a good reserve of children life jackets of all sizes, please inform us in advance of number of children to join our trip so we can prepare accordingly. Remember that, while the crew will do their best to accommodate the chidren's needs, their safety is a parental duty - while on board, never leave your children unsupervised. We strongly suggest having them wearing a life jackets at all times when they are on the open decks. If they decide to have a nap while on board - we can spare a suitable cabin. At the same time - we have a nice collection of children's books and animated cartoons to be played on TVs.

    Pets on board?

    Yes, you can bring along your pet on your journey. You will need to supervise them, of course. Unfortunately, the yacht does not carry any flotation devices for your pets; feel free to bring oyur own if required.

    Are food and drinks included?

    Food and beverages are not included unless pre-booked- here except limited quantities of soft drinks, water (cold and hot), tea, and coffee. You may choose the catering options or bring your own.

    Can I decorate the yacht?

    Yes, please feel free to decorate the yacht. Our crew would be glad to assist. And as long as..your decorations are not...permanent.

    Do I need to bring passports?

    No need, if you are staying within local waters. Yes, if you are going for an overseas trip.
    What if the weather turns bad on the day of the cruise?

    All charters are subject to prevailing weather and sea conditions. The safety of guests, crew, and vessel is the overriding priority at all times.

    Weather conditions include, but are not limited to:

  • strong winds;
  • heavy rain or thunderstorms;
  • poor visibility;
  • rough sea states;
  • official weather advisories or warnings.

    The yacht's Captain has the sole and final authority to determine if weather conditions (e.g., heavy rain, thunderstorms, strong winds) are unsafe for a charter to proceed or continue. All guests are required to arrive at the marina as scheduled to wait for the Captain's final on-site assessment. As a guideline:

  • light rain/drizzle - charters usually proceed as scheduled / no refunds or rescheduling are granted.
  • severe weather (thunderstorms/lightning): if conditions are deemed dangerous, the charter may be delayed by 1–2 hours or rescheduled to a later date.

  • Corkage on local charters?

    No corkage fee is being charged for bringing your drinks on board- the policy applies only to trips less than 6 hours. No corkage policy does not apply to corporate events unless previously agreed in the charter contract.

    What would be the reasons to interupt a local charter and return to the marina?

    The Captain reserves the right to interrupt or terminate the charter and return to marina at any time should weather, safety, mechanical condition, passenger conduct, regulatory instruction, or any other factor pose a risk to persons, vessel, or property.

    Weather & Sea Conditions - a charter may be interrupted if conditions are assessed as unsafe by the Captain, including:
  • sudden deterioration of weather (squalls, thunderstorms, heavy rain);
  • strong winds, rough seas, or poor visibility;
  • lightning risk;
  • issuance of adverse weather warnings by authorities (e.g. Small Craft Advisory)

    Passenger Safety & Conduct - immediate return may be required if:
  • a passenger or multiple passengers behave in a dangerous, aggressive, or reckless manner;
  • excessive alcohol intoxication affecting safety;
  • refusal to follow the Captain/crew's instructions;
  • standing or sitting in unsafe areas while underway; netering "restrcited areas" marked acordingly without prior permission;
  • jumping into the water without permission;
  • harassment, violence, or threats toward crew or other guests;
  • violations of environmental regulations such as discarding trash into the sea (of any kind) and
  • interference with teh yacht's machinery or systems of any kind.

    Medical Emergencies - the charter interruption may occur due to:

  • serious injury or illness on board both crew and or guests;
  • loss of consciousness, suspected heart attack, stroke, severe allergic reaction (crew and/or guests);
  • any medical condition requiring urgent professional treatment.

    Mechanical or technical issues - return to marina may be required if:

  • engine or propulsion malfunction;
  • steering or navigation system failure;
  • electrical or power system issues.

    The Charter may also be interrupted if

  • directed by port authorities, coast guard, or marine police;
  • temporary navigation restrictions are imposed;
  • maritime incident in the operating area and
  • security or safety zone enforcement.

    Breach of Charter Contract Terms Early termination will also occur if:

  • passenger numbers exceed declared number of guest contracted;
  • prohibited items brought on board (e.g. drugs, weapons, illegal substances);
  • anauthorized activities (e.g. fishing, diving, water sports without approval)and
  • smoking in prohibited areas.

    What are the basic rules while onboard?

    The Captain has absolute authority at all times with regard to:

  • safety of guests;
  • yacht's navigation, route selection, anchoring, and timing, weather-related decisions.

    All guests agree to respect and comply with the Captain’s decisions, which are final and non-negotiable. These instructions are issued for safety, regulatory compliance, and the smooth operation of the yacht. Failure to comply may result in:

  • restriction of certain activities and/or
  • early termination of the charter without refund, at the Captain’s discretion.

    Alcohol may be consumed onboard responsibly. The Captain reserves the right to: refuse service of alcohol; limit or stop alcohol consumption; restrict participation in water activities. This applies if any guest is deemed intoxicated, disruptive, or poses a safety risk to themselves or others.

    The following behaviours are strictly prohibited:

  • standing, climbing, or sitting on railings;
  • jumping from the yacht except where expressly permitted;
  • running on deck or interior spaces;
  • aggressive, abusive, or disorderly conduct;
  • interfering with navigational equipment and/or machinery
  • entering spaces marked as "Restricted Area" such as engine room, crew quarters, the navigating bridge (without the Captain's permission).

    Any guest engaging in unsafe behaviour may be restricted from activities or asked to remain seated indoors.

    Swimming and water activities are permitted only when:

  • the yacht is safely anchored;
  • conditions allow;
  • explicit approval is given by the Captain or crew.

    The Captain may suspend water activities at any time due to weather, sea conditions, or guest safety concerns.

    Smoking on board is only permitted in the designated areas:

  • outdoors only;
  • at the rear of each deck.

    Ensure you are properly extinguishing your cigarretes and do not throw any butts overboard.

    Any refuse/garbageshould be placed in the designated refuse collection bins. Do not throw anything into the sea - that also includes food (of any kind).

    Toilets - the yacht is fitted with vaccum operated toilets. Please do not throw any objects in the toilet as may clog the whole system.

    How many passengers can the yacht accomodate in an overseas charter?

    Regularly, overseas charters (overninght sailing) will be restricted to 12 guests.

    What is included in the overseas charters?

    It depends on your selected choices when you are placing the booking. We can accommdate later changes if you require addons to the original booking. Unless otherwise previously agreed, The charter fee includes the fully crewed yacht, accommodation, full board meals, standard beverages, fuel for the agreed itinerary, tender service, non-motorised water sports equipment, and standard port and clearance fees, cruising permits, local harbor dues.

    Items of a personal nature, alcoholic beverages, specialised activities, diving, advanced water sports, satellite communications, crew gratuities, and expenses outside the agreed itinerary are excluded unless expressly stated otherwise.

    Generally, a standard overseas charter will include:

  • exclusive use of the yacht for the booked duration;
  • the fuel for the planned/agreed route;
  • the crew to operate the yacht, guest support, onboard host/hostess support, meal service and cleaning, assistance with equipment and safety briefings and drills;
  • the use of common spaces - saloon, restrooms, seating, deck areas, and the deck jacuzzi.
  • the use of the assigned cabin and all its inventory;
  • standard linens and towels changed every two days or earlier if requested;
  • daily cabin housekeeping;
  • standard toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner, tissue, toothbrushes);
  • meals and drinks as agreed in the Charter contract;
  • complementary items including assorted soft drinks, bottled cold and hot water (dispensers), tee and coffee;
  • use of the tender for guests' related activities; transfer yacht-to-shore when permitted;

    Yacht toys - unless otherwise previously agreed in the Charter contract, only kayaks, floating mat(s), stand up paddle boards, snorkelling equipment and limited fishing gear are included in the package.

  • What is not included in the overseas charters?

    Unless otherwise previously agreed in the Charter Contract, the following are NOT included (charged separately) in the overseas charters:

    1. Drinks - not included: alcoholic beverages / beer, wine, spirits;
  • premium soft drinks or specialty coffees;
  • champagne and branded alcohol.

    2. Advanced water sports & excluded equipment - usually excluded unless specified:
  • jet skis / wave runners, seabobs, diving equipment, professional dive guides, Nitrox or tank refills; diving activities, dive permits and park fees, dive masters or instructors; equipment rental; certification-related dives.

    4. Shore excursions & experiences: guided tours; cultural visits and any fees included; any island/national park or any local entry fees: private transport ashore.

    5. Crew Gratuities - customary but discretionary, typically 5–10% of charter fee. 6. Communications & Data: satellite internet; satellite phone usage; streaming services offshore.

    7. Personal expenses: personal shopping; laundry beyond standard onboard washing; medical expenses of any kind; personal travel insurance.

    8. Visas & Immigration for guests: entry visas; passport costs; vaccinations or medical requirements; any tourist taxes; any kind of fines incurred by guests.

    Can itineraries be customised?

    Ideally, multi-day cruising itineraries need to be agreed upon before the commencement of the voyage. Variations from the agreed route/number of days in the port, addition of new destinations will incur additional costs that cannot always be planned for. We will try our best to meet your changes whenever such are possible, in due regard of the yacht's limitations (such as available fuel, food and drinking water), future commitments, etc.

    Children passengers on board?

    A very important aspect here - please ensure that you carefully study the local requirements oin respect of pets at the ports/countries of destination - pet's passport, vaccination, any local prohibition in bringing pets ashore. We will try our best to assist using our sources of information - but the resposnbility will remain with the owner of the pet.

    Corkage on overseas charters?

    No corkage will be imposed on your drinks brought onboard. For all the liquer brought onboard, you are responsible to declare it at every port of call in order to avoid any fines that may be imposed by the local Customs authorities. Observe closely regulations in Muslim countries which may prohibit you from carrying alcohol ashore.

    What are the requirements in respect of travel documents, visas, etc.? Personal valuables?

    Guests are responsible for all passports, visas, travel documents, personal belongings, insurance, and legal compliance in the countries visited. The yacht, owner, and crew accept no liability for loss of valuables, documentation issues, fines, delays, or itinerary changes resulting from guest non-compliance.

    1. Passports, Visas & Travel Documents

    1.1 The Charterer and all guests are solely responsible for ensuring that they hold valid passports, visas, re-entry permits, vaccination certificates, and any other documents required for entry, exit, or transit through the countries visited during the charter.

    1.2 Passports must be valid for at least six (6) months beyond the final date of travel unless otherwise required by local authorities.

    1.3 The Owner and Operator accept no liability for refusal of entry, delayed clearance, fines, deportation, or itinerary changes arising from incomplete, invalid, or incorrect documentation.

    1.4 Any delays, diversions, or costs resulting from documentation issues shall be borne entirely by the Charterer.

    2. Immigration, Customs & Border Control

    2.1 Guests must comply with all immigration, customs, and border regulations of the countries visited.

    2.2 The possession, importation, or exportation of prohibited or restricted items is strictly forbidden.

    2.3 Any fines, penalties, vessel detention, or operational disruption caused by guest non-compliance shall be the sole responsibility of the Charterer.

    3. Personal Belongings & Valuables

    3.1 Guests bring personal belongings, valuables, cash, jewellery, electronics, and documents entirely at their own risk.

    3.2 The yacht has secure safe-deposit facility. Limited storage may be available but is not guaranteed.

    3.3 The Owner, Operator, and Crew shall not be liable for loss, theft, damage, or disappearance of personal items, whether on board, ashore, in tenders, or during excursions.

    4. Itinerary Changes Due to Documentation Issues

    4.1 The Captain reserves the right to alter the itinerary or return to port if guest documentation or compliance issues create operational or legal risk.

    4.2 Such changes shall not constitute breach of contract and do not entitle the Charterer to refunds or compensation.

    What are the requirements for personal insurance on overseas charters? For all overseas charters, we require that each guest has a comprehensive travel/health insurance valid for the whole duration of the charter. Such cover must include: medical treatment and evacuation; trip interruption or cancellation; loss or damage to personal belongings; repatriation and emergency assistance.

    The yacht’s insurance does not cover personal property or individual medical expenses. .

    Any probibited items/activities? The following are strictly prohibited on board: illegal drugs or substances; weapons or firearms (unless lawfully declared and authorised); restricted or undeclared goods; items prohibited by local or international maritime law.

    Discovery of prohibited items may result in immediate termination of the charter and notification of authorities.

    Guests must comply with all applicable local laws, maritime regulations, and crew instructions at all times.

    The Captain has absolute authority to restrict activities or terminate the charter where guest conduct creates legal or safety risk.

    Charter Terms & Policies

    1. Booking & Confirmation

    A charter is confirmed upon acceptance of the charter agreement and payment of the required deposit. Final details are confirmed prior to departure.

    2. Payments

    Deposits and balance payments are due as stated in your charter agreement. Prices may be subject to applicable taxes, fees, and exchange rates.

    3. Guest Numbers

    Maximum guest numbers are limited by maritime regulations and the yacht’s certification. Final guest lists must be provided in advance and approved prior to departure.

    4. Safety & Conduct

    The Captain has absolute authority regarding safety, route selection, weather-related decisions, and onboard conduct. Guests must follow crew instructions at all times.

    5. Weather & Sea Conditions

    Charters are subject to prevailing weather and sea conditions. Routes or timings may be adjusted to ensure safety and comfort. If conditions prevent safe departure, alternative arrangements or rescheduling may be discussed.

    6. Cancellations

    Cancellation terms are outlined in your charter agreement and may vary depending on notice period and charter type. Deposits may be non-refundable within certain timeframes.

    7. Liability & Insurance

    The yacht is insured in accordance with applicable maritime requirements. Guests participate in activities at their own risk and may be required to sign a passenger waiver.

    8. Damage & Loss

    Guests are responsible for any damage caused by themselves or their invitees during the charter. Loss or damage may be charged accordingly.

    9. Decorations & Equipment

    Decorations are permitted only if non-permanent, approved in advance, and do not damage surfaces. Fireworks, confetti, and hazardous materials are prohibited.

    10. Noise & Music

    Music and sound levels must comply with local regulations and marina/anchorage guidelines. The Captain may limit volume or timing as required.

    11. Force Majeure

    The operator is not liable for delays or cancellations caused by events beyond reasonable control, including weather, mechanical issues, or regulatory actions.

    Diving Trips

    For selected overseas routes, we can plan a diving journey around your goals — sites, pace, and comfort — then coordinate the details to bring it to life.

    Do you offer diving trips?

    Diving is offered on selected overseas charters and planned in advance. All diving activities are subject to location suitability, guest experience levels, and safety protocols.

    How are dive itineraries planned?

    We begin with your goals—sites, pace, and comfort level—then plan routes and timings around conditions and seasonality. Your vision guides the journey; our team coordinates the execution.
